O Lord, open my lips,

Prayer of thanksgiving

Blessed are you, Sovereign God, ruler and judge of all, to you be praise and glory forever. In the darkness of this age that is passing away, may the light of your presence which the saints enjoy surround our steps as we journey on. May we reflect your glory this day and so be made ready to see your face in the heavenly city where night shall be no more.

Blessed be God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God forever.

The night has passed, and the day lies open before us; let us pray with one heart and mind.

And I say to you that many will come from the east and west and will dine with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. And as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that very moment.

Isaiah 9:8-10:4

The Lord sent a word against Jacob,
and it falls upon Israel.
All the people shall know,
even Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria,
who say in the pride
and stoutness of heart,
“The bricks are fallen down,
but we will build with hewn stones;
the sycamores are cut down,
but we will replace them with cedars.”
Therefore, the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him,
and join his enemies together.
The Arameans shall be before and the Philistines behind;
and they shall devour Israel with open jaws.

For all this His anger is not turned away,
and His hand is stretched out still.

For the people do not turn to Him who struck them,
