O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
Your light springs up for the righteous
and all the peoples have seen your glory.
Prayer of thanksgiving
Blessed are you, Sovereign God, king of the nations, to you be praise and glory forever. From the rising of the sun to its setting, your name is proclaimed in all the world. As the Sun of Righteousness dawns in our hearts, anoint our lips with the seal of your Spirit that we may witness to your gospel and sing your praise in all the earth.
Blessed be God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God forever.
The night has passed, and the day lies open before us;
let us pray with one heart and mind.
Silence is kept.
As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and forever.

Genesis 11:1-9
Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. As the people journeyed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there.
They said to each other, “Let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone and tar for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top will reach to heaven, and let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men built. And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do; now nothing that they propose to do will be impossible for them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city. Therefore the name of it was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth. From there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in. I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.’

Luke 1:68-79
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for He has visited and redeemed His people,
and has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of His servant David,

and from the hand of all who hate us,
to perform the mercy promised to our fathers

The Apostle’s Creed
Let us unite in this historic confession of the Christian faith:
I believe in God,
the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
